The Telopea/Waratah
The different species of waratah can grow as big as large shrubs to small trees. They grow particularly around sandy loam soils, and are pyrogenic flowering species.
The leaves of the waratah have adapted to have a thick, waxy covering to keep in water for long, dry periods. The flower is unique, as it's appearance attracts many different pollinators.
